Willow Park Wildcats Logo Design

When I was in Grade 2, I moved to Leduc, Alberta. I attended a little community school In North West Leduc called Willow Park. Who would have thought that 40 years later I’d be re-designing their logo for them.

The Principal, Greg Luchak, and I had a few discussions about direction and it was agreed that a classic sports team approach would fit will. We created a shield icon that presents as the logo icon and we also created a corporate version with a less dynamic type treatment.

The process was very enjoyable.

Even though we live in a highly digitized world, I often begin my creative process on paper. In this way I can iterate and explore in an efficient fashion without sinking too much time into it.

After Settling on a sketch and overall feel for the direction of the creative, I will work up some concepts/variations in Adobe Illustrator.

The final log design in all it’s glory. When delivering the logo file I always make sure to provide my clients with a variety of versions in black and white, various one colour options and various formats for any application.
